The Home for Children and Adolescents at the Lingap Center of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (HCA-PSWD) houses children who are either orphaned, abandoned, or victims of physical abuse, rape, or incest. Florence Nightingale Global Health (FNGH) purchased a new computer for the residents of HCA, all made possible through the generous donation of Douglas Payne, an FNGH board member. Shown in the photo are some staff of HCA, plus members of the Rotary CLUB of Catarman , who we partner with to deliver humanitarian support to this region of the Philippines. #FNGH
During childhood development stages, the importance of education is stronger than ever. It’s when children learn social and mental skills that are essential for their development and growth. Importantly, computer technology will give these children and adolescents a great opportunity for success in the future. Education at childhood also offers a chance for self-discovery and to learn about their unique interests.
This is a generous donation and critical to the lives of these young minds. Who knows what the future may hold for them now. We may just see a future lawyer, doctor, school teacher or community leader in the making here. Thank you to all those who make it possible for these children to dream of a life beyond their difficult circumstances, and to have the opportunity to turn those dreams into reality!
